Termites are known to have an intricate social structure, and an ability to build subterranean structures 15 feet tall, complete with specialty chambers, air ventilation and cooling systems. They are known to eat away at trees, paper, cardboard, and wooden homes, and do not require sleep. Worker termites have a milky or creamy colour and saw-tooth mandibles. Queen termites lay up to 2,000 eggs a day.

PestBusters offers complete solutions for termite-proofing structures as well as the most effective methods for decimating termite colonies.
Inspection
The recommended inspection will include visual inspection or the Termatrac Detection Radar (deploying microwave technology to detect active infestation) for any mud trails, which tend to emerge from wall, cracks, crevices and any possible entry points.
Visual Inspection
Inspect visually for signs of termite infestation like mud trails or possible damages to wooden structures.
Microwave Inspection
Microwave Inspection for wooden areas e.g. parquet flooring, built-in furniture, timber skirting, roof rafters, etc.
Using Microwave to detect termite’s movement beneath the parquet flooring or behind the built-in furniture.
We will scan the area where active infestation is suspected (1m x 1m).
Treatment
Termicidal Dusting (a slow-acting chemical carried by the bodies of the foraging termites and distributed throughout the colony.)
Dusting may not be effective if the level of infestation is heavy, as the amount of powder we dust into the mud trails may not be sufficient to eradicate the whole colony. If there are multiple colonies, the dust powder may not be able to reach all of them.
Clients are advised not to scrap or spray any aerosol treatments onto the mud trails as it would only kill the exposed termites and the rest of the colony would disperse and infest elsewhere. No treatment will be done if live infestation cannot be found.
Maintenance Package: Visual inspection is carried out every 2 months (bimonthly) or every 3 months (quarterly). Dusting will be carried out in areas where infestation occurs. After a period of 1 week, we will return for a follow-up. If you would like to use the microwave scan, we will recommend carrying out the scanning once a year, during the first routine. This is recommended if you have parquet flooring, timber skirting, built in furniture etc.
Prevention against subterranean termite activities can be carried out by slab injection. This entails drilling into the ground slab along all pillars and walls, and injecting chemicals to provide a barrier against subterranean termites.
