Mosquitoes are the perfect silent assassins of the insect world. They move around quietly, biting unsuspecting victims. Their two huge compound eyes provide a wide field of vision and detect movement easily. Its tiny proboscis specialize in piercing flesh and sucking blood. Most of their prey don’t even know they have been bitten, and when they do, the mosquito is already long gone, stalking their next prey.

To combat the mosquito threat, PestBusters uses a multipronged offensive strategy to attack mosquitos’ food sources and kill them before they hatch from their larvae.
Larvaciding: We will inspect all surrounding areas for possible breeding sources and treat the sources where necessary by spraying it with chemicals.
Fogging: Fogging is a treatment for the control of flying insects including mosquitoes. As fogging is a short-lived effect, there is no residual action after the treatment. It will not affect insects that fly in after the fog clears. Therefore, we would recommend a weekly course of larvaciding to eliminate mosquitoes at their larval stage.
BTI: This chemical is also applied as a treatment called BTI; it is non-toxic and will only kill the larvae of the mosquitoes. This bacterium is sprayed on stagnant water fed by the larvae through their filter feeding. It destroys the gut of the larvae resulting in death within 2 to 24 hours.
Bifentrin: This is a new long-residual premium chemical that does not break down in extreme weather conditions (will last about 2-3 weeks) and is applied using misting. It is very effective outdoors in controlling adult mosquitoes across different environments with vegetation. *Bifentrin will kill fish*
Mosquito Dunks: Mosquito dunks in granular form are effective against mosquitoes in a variety of habitats. When applied to water surface, mosquito dunks float on water and slowly release a long-term biological mosquito larvacide. This larvacide gradually settles in the water and is eaten by mosquito larvae growing in the area. Continuous ingestion of the active ingredient produces a chronic infection that kills the larvae. It will last for 30 days or longer under typical environmental conditions.
For office environments: For mosquitoes within offices, there are limitations to possible treatments. As mosquitoes are flying insects, the only treatment we can carry out within the office would be misting. However, misting does not have any residual effect, thus it would be only be able to eliminate mosquitoes that are flying within the misting area. Therefore, we usually do not recommend treatment against mosquitoes in offices.
The next best option would be inspecting the area to check if there is any possible breeding source. However, we usually do not find stagnant water within offices, thus mosquitoes breeding within offices is rare. If you would like us to either carry out an inspection for mosquitoes or misting treatment, we will be able to give you a separate quotation for that.
